The CDC’s “Zombie Pandemic” Comic

The Center for Disease Control has released a comic called “Preparedness 101: Zombie Pandemic”, written by Maggie Silver with art by James Hobbs.  The comic depicts a zombie outbreak, but also serves as a fun educational tool for any kind of health/medical emergency event, and ends with a checklist of emergency supplies.

Silver is the CDC Health Communications Specialist, and she conceived of the idea to attract the attention of teens and young adults. “”We go over making an emergency kit, making a plan with your family about where you would go if there was an emergency, and then just understanding what kind of things that could happen in your area,” Silver said.  The comic is a companion to the CDC’s Zombie Blog project.

You can download a free PDF from the CDC website.
