PRIME MINISTERS RELEASE FIRST US SINGLE TAKE IT BACK TODAY
FROM THEIR UPCOMING ALBUM NOW OUT THIS SUMMER
Splitting their time between South America and the Wynwood Art District in Miami, Prime Ministers–Ernesto (guitar, piano, vocals), Chimo (drums), Pedro (bass and vocals) and Shaggy (guitar and vocals) are set to make their mark in the states with the release of their new song Take it Back, out today at all digital outlets, a sneak peek of what’s to come from their album Now out later this summer. Take it Back (and Now) were produced and mixed by Max Heyes (Oasis, Paul Weller, Primal Scream).
”Take it Back is a song about the damage that can be done when someone for whom you feel affection says or does something really hurtful, the song invites us to think hard about what’s said before it’s too late" explains Ernesto.
The band’s debut album Take a Ride was met with critical acclaim in Ecuador and throughout the region, garnering attention and invitations from South By South West and Rock Al Parque.
The band achieved success on MTV Latin, becoming one of the most prominent bands on the channel. Their videos for the songs Smoking Monkeys and Under Your Spell from Take a Ride quickly found their way up onto the Most Wanted Videos for weeks in 2009 and 2010, and in 2011 the song Far From Free infiltrated the Latin chart and held its position for 8 weeks. The Prime Ministers were also chosen as one of the Top 50 Best Bands by MTV Latin American that year.
Now, Prime Ministers are looking forward to introducing the world to their hard driving, melodic and well written rock. Combining an edgy swagger with their own personal influences they create a sound that is individually theirs. With the release of their new song Take it Back and the upcoming summer release of Now the band is eager to penetrate the states.
Without a doubt the diversity and flavor they bring will gain them fans across all rock genres as well as the ability to bring both sexes together in the pit.
