Punk Americana is a tribute to the widely respected, mass loved yet underestimated music of the Rockabilly. This album has the southern country / surf punk inspired riffs, with a strong jazz and blues influence.
At first I was not sure what to expect, the 1st song Radio Daze opens soft and mellow, not at all “punk”, but is swiftly turned into a toe tapper and made for a real sweet listen. A definitive throwback to the 50’s Car scene and the Beatnik era, this good time swinging party rock band makes use of their talents to get the room moving and play with an enthusiasm that mirrors their flair for the dramatic.
Every Song on the Retromatic Tour de Force is Be-Bop Cool and, I especially Loved Kitty Has Klaws, but be warned this album does have the infamous Parental Advisory label “Explicit Content”…. Which means AWESOME!
To get this album for your very lovin’ own, go to Lanark Records – http://lanarkrecords.net and get your copy today.
I have 2 more albums of theirs to review and I just might dust of my old leather, take a lean back and ride this bad motor scooter.
