Album News: The Reach Around Rodeo Clowns release Rockabilly Deluxe
Label: Lanark Records – www.lanarkrecords.net
Since the early 1990’s, the Reach Around Rodeo Clowns have released five red-hot albums and toured extensively, earning them a place in the hearts of a broad base of music lovers and rabble-rousers everywhere. Drawing from roots rockabilly, surf, and rock n’ roll, with an irreverent punk attitude and a heapin’ helpin’ of moonshine, the Reach Around Rodeo Clowns have crafted a unique sound and presence that is always in demand.
Brothers Quentin Jones (Guitar) and Wendell Jones (Vocals) formed the band in Lancaster PA in 1995. Quentin’s crisp, “twangy” leads and swank tube tones get the rodeo rockin’ while Wendell’s vocals range from backwoods hillbilly to dark, brooding blues. With the addition of Dave Ferrara on Drums and Crusher Carmean on the Upright Bass, the group is rounded out with killer rhythm and grooves.
With their sixth and most ambitious album, Rockabilly Deluxe, The Reach Around Rodeo Clowns’ momentum shows no signs of slowing down. Rockabilly Deluxe, released by Lanark Records, was recorded at Lanark’s studio on analog equipment, melding past, present, and future vibes into a record that Eddie Cochran might have made, if he lived to hear Revolver and then joined Mott the Hoople.
A little bit country, a little bit punk, a little bit crazy, and a little bit drunk, “Rockabilly Deluxe” by the Reach Around Rodeo Clowns is a retro-futuristic rock n’ roll spectacle not to be missed.
