K.Flay is not your typical hip-hop artist. The talented musician always had an inclination towards the craft but really only gravitated to the rhythm and the rhyme in a serious way while in college pursuing a double major at Stanford University.  It was there she released her first mixtapes which introduced her offbeat style to underground hip-hop fans around the world. Over the next several years she built a hardcore following through social media, live shows and a string of compilations, singles and EPs, including 2012’s independently released EP Eyes Shut which grabbed the attention from the likes of Billboard.com, RollingStone.com, Vibe.com, Complex.com and Spin.com and earned her tours with acts like Passion Pit, 3Oh!3, Icona Pop and Theophilus London and spots on Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and Governor’s Ball.

Eventually K.Flay signed with RCA Records and released an EP called What If It Is in 2013. Again, national media continued to follow as she found success, but as she quickly discovered life in the majors had its ups and downs. After leaving the label in 2014, K.Flay took her career into her own hands in the true DIY spirit and launched a Pledge Music campaign for her first full-length album, Life As A Dog, which was fully funded in only six days.

Life As A Dog is a pop-infused hip-hop album built on the back of a punk rock ideology. Finding herself without a label, led her back to her musical roots inspiring a burst of creative energy and the bold confidence to try new things in the studio. Working with collaborators like Billboard (Robyn, B.o.B., Britney Spears), Justyn Pilbrow (The Neighbourhood) and Sam Spiegel (Maroon 5, N.A.S.A), K.Flay created a collection of personal songs, like “Wishing It Was You,” “Fever,” “Bad Things” and “Thicker Than Dust,” with mesmerizing beats and honest lyrics that showcase an artist that’s found her voice and isn’t afraid to step outside the lines of conventional hip-hop.

K.Flay is currently on the road with the Vans Warped Tour, bringing her energetic live show and new album to fans across the country.
