Marian Hill – One Time

Previous artists who have titled a track “One Time” range from Justin Bieber to King Crimson, but Philly duo Marian Hill (Jeremy Lloyd; production/songwriting and Samantha Gongol; vocals/songwriting) breathe sultry life into the titular cliche with “One Time.”

Gongol’s flirtatious vocals beckon above an 80’s “sexysax” riff (which is enjoying a bit of a cultural renaissance (e.g., Big Gigantic, Edge of Glory)). We dare you to try to only listen to this track once, because as Gongol reminds us in the chorus:

Boy if you wanna go I would not mind /

But I’m not the kind of drum you play one time
