Win a Vocal Recording Microphone from Sennheiser
This professional quality dual-diaphragm condenser microphone with five independent polar patterns for advanced home and studio recording has two 1’’ diaphragms to deliver warm and precise sound.
“I was pleasantly surprised to find that the sound doesn’t get unduly phasey as you move around the edges of the polar patterns, and it has a reasonably consistent quality across the different selections. You might expect that all multi-pattern mics would just work this way; they don’t” says Andi Picker from Interactive Guitar. “If you’ve got a space in the mic locker for a high quality, German made workhorse mic then stick the Mk8 on your shortlist.”

MK 8
Surprising Talents

Introducing the latest addition to Sennheiser’s family of studio microphones, the multi-pattern MK 8. The MK 8 is a large-diaphragm, true condenser microphone with five selectable polar patterns, selectable low cut/roll-off filters and 3-step attenuator.

Designed and manufactured in Germany, the MK 8 features a sturdy metal housing and an elastically mounted capsule to reduce structure-borne noise. The microphone’s dual one-inch diaphragm offers five selectable polar patterns (omni-directional, wide cardioid, cardioid, super-cardioid, figure-eight) for versatility in the studio.

MK 8
Perfect for Perfectionists

A three-position filter (off, 60 Hz, 100 Hz) allows users to cut low-frequency rumble below 60 Hz, or to introduce a softer roll-off at 100 Hz to compensate for proximity effect. The MK 8 is also fitted with a three-position switchable pad (off, -10 dB, -20 dB) to protect against louder sound sources.
