PIERCE THE VEIL’S “KING FOR A DAY” GETS GOLD CERTIFICATION

Pierce the Veil, one of the fastest-rising bands on the rock scene, was awarded a Gold record for its track “King For A Day” in recognition of sales of more than 500,000 units.
“King For A Day” was included on the band’s 2012 album Collide With The Sky that debuted at #12 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, reached the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hard Rock, Modern Rock/Alternative and Rock Albums charts, and has sold in excess of a quarter-million copies in the U.S. alone.  The track, featuring guest vocals from Sleeping with Sirens’ Kellin Quinn, was a top 40 rock hit, and its companion music video has, to date, racked up an astounding 37-million-plus YouTube views.

About Pierce the Veil:
San Diego’s own Pierce the Veil – Vic Fuentes (vocals/guitar), Mike Fuentes (drums), Tony Perry (guitar), and Jaime Preciado (bass) – has emerged as one of the fastest-rising young bands on the post-hardcore scene, manifested by the rocket-ride success of the band’s 2012 release, Collide With The Sky.  Debuting at #12 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, Collide With The Sky has sold nearly a quarter-million copies in the U.S. alone, and the music video for the track “King for a Day” (featuring Sleeping with Sirens’ Quinn), has racked-up an astounding 37-million YouTube views.  In 2012, PTV performed on the Main Stage for the entire Vans Warped Tour, and then went on to sweep the Alternative Press Readers Poll taking awards for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Live Band of the Year, Cover Art of the Year, Music Video of the Year, Best Band Merch, Best Drummer and Best Bassist of the year.  This year, marking the inauguration of AP’s Music Awards, PTV has received seven nominations including Artist of the Year and Best Live Band.  In 2013, the bands music video "King For A Day" was awarded "Best Video of the Year" at the Kerrang! Awards, and earlier this year, the bands critically-acclaimed documentary “This is a Wasteland,” picked up a Revolver Golden God statue for Best Film & Video. PTV has been sequestered in a New York-area studio since June working again with producer Dan Korneff (CWTS) on their fourth album which will be released in early 2015.
