Offering a Warmer Response and Short Sustain, Evans Introduces Reso 7 Drumheads; 16” Bass Drumheads Are Introduced to Meet Growing Demand from Drummers

Evans Drumheads announces the release of their new Reso 7 Drumheads and 16” Bass Head offerings.

Evans’ Reso 7 drumheads provide an abbreviated sustain while maintaining a full tonal response. These heads provide drummers with a solution for shorter sustain without the need for additional muffling devices. Those that deal with unwanted resonance will not need to apply additional muffling when using Reso 7 heads. The unique 7mil film also provides a warmer response.

“We’ve seen drummers add all sorts of inconsistent muffling to their drumheads in order to shorten the sustain of their toms, when really it’s the role of the resonant head to provide the appropriate sustain,” says Nick Gordon, D’Addario Percussion Business Unit Manager. “The Reso 7 controls sustain in a balanced manner without drastically altering the tonal response.”

The new Reso 7 will be available in sizes ranging from 6”-18” and will retail for $28.00-$48.25.  They will be available as of January 1, 2015.

To meet the growing demand surrounding the 16” bass drum market, Evans is also introducing its 16” Bass Drumheads for the following product lines, EMAD, EQ4, EQ3-NP, and G1 Coated, now alleviating the need to use stock heads or heads not intended for use on a 16” drum set bass drum. Evans is offering a wide array of their best-selling heads in both bass hoop and tom hoop versions to accommodate converted floor toms and stock mini-bass drums.

“16” bass drums are all the rage right now as drummers are playing in smaller spaces and looking for maximum mobility,” Gordon comments. “We’re excited to offer the best-selling bass drumhead as well as some of its companions in 16” sizing.”

The new 16” bass drumhead offerings will be available January 1, 2015 and will retail from $61.00-$82.00.
