Gottem is a hazy lo-fi quartet with a strong surf-punk influence. Short & sweet jams like “I’m Getting Better” make up for their brief run time with a fast-paced yet somehow laid back energy – it sounds contradictory, I know, but just take a list and you’ll understand. Stream “Will I Am Is A Fragment Sentence” below, and name your own price for Gottem’s latest EP, Cool, on their Bandcamp. Please list all of your band members and their roles in the band. Max Henry Gottesman – Guitar/Vocals Tom Lizo – Bass/Vocals PJ LaRocco – Drums Craig Warkoczeski – Guitar
What’s your hometown (orwhat are your hometowns)? Long Island, New York
How did the band cometogether? How long has it been? The band started as an acoustic thing with just Max working by themself for a
couple of years. After putting out a full-band release and a series of lineup
changes, we all came together at a show at Dong Island, aka the sickest house
in the damn universe. We eventually got to talking & jamming and the
current lineup sorta just fell into place.
How have you grown since
you started? We have a
whole band and people are actually trying to book us now, which is nice.
What sets you apart from
other bands? We set
ourselves on fire, hang from basketball hoops, and put fireworks in our drums.
Basically we want to slowly age into KISS without all of the awful things that
make KISS, KISS.
