RACHEL & THE RUCKUS – “GIVING BACK”
The popular Boulder, CO-based group recently performed at “Peanut Butter Jam”, a special event that benefited the Mountain Family Center Food Drive in Fraser. In October they performed at Blue Star Connection, a nonprofit organization based in Winter Park, CO that works with forty-five children’s hospitals across the U.S. to bring music to both children and young adults who are fighting cancer and life-threatening situations. Read more about Blue Star Connection and Rachel & the Ruckus’ involvement, here.
Their latest single is “Bounce”, taken from the band’s critically-acclaimed self-titled album. The up-tempo, catchy song showcases front-person Rachel Alena’s soulful, country-tinged vocals that are highly reminiscent of tunes by contemporaries like Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, and Miranda Lambert, to name a few. Listen closely and you may even hear strains of Beth Hart, Diana Fuchs, and Janiva Magness in Alena, who calls her music “Mile High Melodic Blues-Rock”. “Bounce” is the follow-up to “Romeo”, the latter described as ‘Shakespeare with a Modern-Day twist”.
RACHEL & THE RUCKUS
WHAT THE PRESS IS SAYING
“With a catchy blend of bluesy rock and an emotionally simulating soul feel, Rachel & the Ruckus is a name gaining ever more familiarity around the Denver music scene.”
“The Colorado-based Rachel & the Ruckus take a down-home and dirty sensibility and give it an irresistible rock ‘n’ roll back-beat, while (front-person) Rachel Alena’s full-throttle delivery gives the material that little extra push. Should have no problem finding their way onto most radio formats”.
“As bluesy and soulful as it is eclectic and catchy, Rachel & the Ruckus’ debut, self-titled EP is a neat little collection of slick, radio-friendly tunes that should open plenty of doors for them”.
“Romeo is a fun introduction to the group, while ‘Bounce’ is a radio-friendly, up-tempo offering”.
