A house fan’s Alice in Wonderland experience can be summed up in two words–Ghost Culture. What began as the solo “bedroom” project of London studio engineer James Greenwood is now a mix of canny song-craft with clattering noise.
Greenwood’s reedy voice and electronic synth-pop effects is a psychedelic trip for listeners. His self-titled album, Ghost Culture(2015), is a crossover flair, resonating with animated fairytales and hallucinogenic experiences.
Greenwood creates a sort of texturized throb in his sound alongside eerie beats and gargling/chocking effects that one would hear in horror films like VHS or Halloween.
All things considered, psychedelic electro-pop music has a way of unveiling the unknown, or supernatural, in an eerie yet subtle way. Greenwood, thanks for disclosing all of the haunting things into the music world that us fans find utterly attractive and addicting.
