The rising San Francisco-based experimental pop artist and songwriter, former member of Windham Flat, who recorded his forthcoming six-track album in a living room in Santa Cruz, released a spicy new single, “Say Hello,” exemplifying his creative taste and worldly talent.
Ben Pearce’s EP featuring Nate Brown is the Bay area’s new indie pop hit. Being a home recording with the contributions of flatmates Robin Moore on the bass and Duncan Nielson on the lead guitar in “Stolkholm,” Pearce’s “non-electronic dance music” is a whirlpool of musical collaboration and fresh, experiential urban melodies.
“Say Hello” is a tropical and catchy beat with almost ’80s inspired vocals. The loud array of instrumentation makes this less than 2-minute song worthwhile, leaving listeners wanting more and more of Pearce and his “get-up-and-dance” vibe.
