Based on true events……
In the summer of 1973, a small town in Louisiana was host to a string of grisly murders. Without a shred of evidence left at the scenes, much of the town’s population thought it was something sinister lurking in the forest. Authorities were horrified to discover the murders were the work of a blood thirsty cult!
God’s country ends outside of East Hodge, Louisiana.
Hailing from the south, experimental noise merchant John Parnell is the sole musician attached to 061180. Birmingham, Alabama is the location of this project along with its home base/studio, Omicron. Their first E.P. (With house, in age) was released in September of 2013 via Peacock Window Recordings as a digital release. Other straight to digital releases (available through bandcamp) have followed: the E.P. “Are you there God, it’s me Dean” and the single “Thus always tyrants” have been self-released along with many others.
This is the soundtrack the depraved mind seemingly from the view of a helpless watcher, can’t help the victims, can’t stop the killers, forced to witness man’s cruelty to man. The ambient music swells and captures, envelopes and flows over you, washing away the sunlight and the vast undertow pulls you into the nightmare. Lyric less, you have to envision what’s happening, and as we know, the human mind can envision horrible things. This is definitely one to hear.
