The goal is to raise $13, 333.00.

“333” is a music gumbo, a pinch of hip hop, a dash of R&B, and a whole lot of rock ‘n’ soul. Why the title “333“? Rev. Rob explains: “According to Doreen Virtue’s book Angel Numbers 101 the number 333 indicates that you are completely surrounded, protected, loved, and guided by the benevolent ascended masters. 333 is an homage to one of those ascended masters, our late dear friend, producer, and engineer, Billy Triplett”.

Dirty Deuce – Some Background

The Sturgeon Bay, WI-based band (‘Rev.’ Rob Atwood, guitars-vocals; Zach Vogel, bass; Jamey ‘J-Dirt’ Clark, drums) each boasted solid musical resumes before creating Dirty Deuce. In 1996 front-man Atwood formed The Probers, whom he toured with through 2004. Among that band’s claim(s) to fame: a performance at the House of Blues in Chicago that was one of the first-ever live Internet broadcasts (by the MTV2 network); and their song “Who’s Your Daddy” being featured in a 2003 MLB Playoffs series between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox (Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez became known for using the phrase after striking out opposing players). Bassist Zach Vogel played guitar for Arizona-based band Authority Zero, with whom he toured the world. Drummer Jamey Clark has played with Clyde Stubblefield (the original funky drummer with James Brown), “Godfather of Austin Blues” W.C. Clark, Pat MacDonald (Timbuk 3) and Jane Wiedlen (Go-Go’s) among others.

The Dirty Deuce sound is best described as rock-tinged alt-country with a strong melodic base, as heard on such tracks as “100 Years” and “Body Is A Temple”. You might also hear such varied influences ranging from 70’s Brit rock greats T. Rex, to that famed ‘Little Old Band From Texas,’ ZZ Top.

The ‘Deuce’s well-received 2012 LP, “Big Ol’ Sexy”  was described by  Door County Pulse scribe Jim Lundstrum as “raw and refined…meaty, beaty, big and bouncy. Just try to stop yourself from locking into Dirty Deuce’s snarky rhythm, refrain from slapping something, or snapping your fingers, or playing an air power chord. Thy Dirty Deuce knows the hoodoo”.
