Album review of NPU – No Prohibition Unit
Review by Joseph Timmons: IndiePulse Music Magazine
NPU – No Prohibition Unit is the new album by Roberto “Zizzi” Zanetti, was released on May 31 2016.
It is a trip through the history of Jazz in its prime, influenced by the greats of the “Roaring Twenties”. This album, purposed as an album to pay homage to the big heroes who led music to such a great innovation in spite of all social and political problems of the Prohibition Era is truly a masterpiece of elegance and talent.
Jazz is not an easy music to perform; it has such subtle nuances, tone and textures that require a delicate touch, passion, and patience. Another variable to be considered, the musicians, the music is only as graceful as those that perform it, led by Roberto “Zizzi” Zanetti on piano we find Valerio Pontrandolfo on sax, Luca Pisani on double bass and Massimo Chiarella on drums, a musical ensemble that has what it takes to make a great album .
NPU – No Prohibition Unit is well worth very second invested in listening pleasure; let it take you to a time of indulgence and careless affairs, well dressed men and women whom loved them, sip your finest brandy in the smoke filled café of the mind and dream the dream of a grand life in the nightclubs of yesteryear.
