“The band have fully embraced their theatrical side, creating rock music worthy of filling any arena, while keeping a strong hold on their aggressive punk-rock roots.” – Alternative Press

“I wanted this record to be more about what’s happening to me as opposed to having it be all about a disintegrating relationship,” explains Bayside frontman Anthony Raneri on the themes behind the 11-song album, which was written following a family move to Nashville that ended with Raneri divorced and living in a nearby motel. “When I was writing this record I felt like a transient and I think writing Vacancy really helped me work through an experience that I had never prepared for, let alone planned on.”

“Bayside have always given a nod to show tunes, but with Vacancy they dig in,” says Alternative Press in their recent album review. The band discussed their affinity for the theatric while promoting 2014’s Cult, and took it a step further with Vacancy, enlisting producer Tim O’Heir, whose resume includes producing albums for everyone from Sebadoh to Say Anything and was also nominated for a Tony Award for Hedwig And The Angry Inch. “It’s always been my goal to write songs that are technically complicated but aren’t off-putting to someone who just wants to sing along,” adds Raneri.

Pre-orders for Vacancy are available now (http://smarturl.it/Vacancy), with digital pre-orders offering an instant download of “Enemy Lines,” “Pretty Vacant” and “I’ve Been Dead All Day.” Physical pre-orders, vinyl, cd as well as various merch bundles can be found here: http://smarturl.it/baysidepreorder/.
