The project is headed up by musician and producer, Paolo Navarretta, from Piano di Sorrento in South Italy. The band pulls influences from Katatonia, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones; among many others.
Label founder, Noah “Shark” Robertson (Motograter, Ex-The Browning), remarks “The Black Crown remind me of early Katatonia and early Tool. I love it! I’ve been searching for a band like this for a while and I can’t wait for people to hear this music!”
The Black Crown’s full-length debut ‘Fragments’ was recorded in the Summer of 2016 at Syn Factory Productions in Piano di Sorrento, Italy and Fade In Studios in Massa Lubrense, Italy. The album consists of 10 tracks and is currently available for streaming and download on popular sites such as iTunes and Spotify.
Navarretta states “The Black Crown are really proud to be the first Italian band to sign with Zombie Shark Records. We are starting a really exciting journey, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.”
