As one of the longest-tenured bands in Southern California (together now for over two decades), this eleven-piece revue is renowned for their sensual and intoxicating, energetic blend of R&B, Soul, Blues and Rock. What many people don’t realize is the immense amount of talent on the stage when Blowin’ Smoke performs: Band leader Knight was a former member of renowned SoCal rock band, Spirit, and before that, fronted several well-known groups in the Midwest while also once having performed with the Ike Turner Revue.

“Blowin’ Smoke conveys a welcome reminder to all people with a beating heart that putting a smokin’ 4-horn section alongside a burnin’ rhythm section, then layering three charismatic and powerful vocalists, The Fabulous Smokettes, on top of that – all live, intense, soulful, sassy, and powerful – this is music at its most enriching moment. “Blowin’ Smoke’s scorching blues and soul collective has been tearin’ the roof off Harvelle’s for two decades… they put their soul into performing everything from originals to early music by James Brown, Etta James and Aretha Franklin to classic tunes by Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye. “ – THE ARGONAUT
“Often times, the smaller intimate rooms bring out the best in a group. Such was the case Saturday night at Harvelle’s when the Blowin’ Smoke Rhythm and Blues Band with the Fabulous Smokettes packed the place. This is music played and sung the way it was meant to be and “Fuzzy” Knight knows how to get the best out of his musicians and singers.” – LOS ANGELES BEAT
