Beat The Drum love monkeys. They are fun to be around, love parties and generally exhibit an air of exuberance.

Sometimes they are mischievous or cheeky and that is so endearing.

Occasionally however, they can become onerous or simply downright unpleasant and yet no one can explain why.

But why bother to work it out, when you can just stay out of their way, and try to encourage them to get friendly. After all, they’re not causing you issues, are they?

Beat The Drum release ‘Chunky Monkey’ Friday 11th August 2017.

Available everywhere to stream, download and buy

Chunky Monkey is the first of 5 tracks, to be released one a month from the upcoming classic album ’The Future Is Now’.

Three versions are available. Original mix, In Tokyo mix, and The Howler mix.

Any one of these mixes will fulfill your need to distract the monkey.

Beat The Drum Bio – Who Are Beat The Drum

We have no restrictions on what we do and hence we have no manifesto.
What we create arises naturally from who we are and is constantly changing . . .

To quote the Tao Te Ching “A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving”.

A good artist lets his intuition lead him wherever he wants.

A good scientist has freed himself of concepts and keeps his mind open to what is.

We have only one principle that we work to, and that is – WE MAKE THE RULES.

We are Beat The Drum and we create wonderful music and soundscapes from our studio and HQ on the edge of London.

We write songs and music and make a beautiful noise. That’s what we do. That’s what we love to do.

We formed the cult band Beat The Drum in London during the eighties. Then in the nineties we recorded and released material under the name Crasherama.

Beat The Drum is now Chris Calloway and Steve Murrell. We are the last men standing.
In different guises we wrote, recorded and produced the core of all our material. We still do.

2016 We started writing and recording together again and we are now preparing our next sequence of releases and events.

9th June 2017 ’That Was Now, This Is Then’ – A mini album of remastered tracks from the Crasherama projects that features previously unreleased material.

A collection of tunes that we still love and we think you will too.

Check out the videos here.

This is a way for us to wipe the slate clean before we start afresh.

Having completed writing our new album ‘The Future Is Now’ we are currently busy recording and mixing tracks ready for its release. We are truly excited by the music we are making now, it feels like we have found our way to where we should be.

We have lots of cool things coming up that we would love to share with you, some beautiful and some absurd.
