Austin Texas-Based Band Fronted By Singer-Songwriter Megan Flechaus Makes Awesome Easy.
Flechaus is Megan also spearheading a Benefit for those Who Lost Their Homes in Hurricane Harvey at the Carousel Lounge in Austin Texas on Wednesday, September 20th.
“Lie To Me,” seems like a sweet contradiction to the idea of trust building in relationships, in the lyrics “Therefore I lie with her and she with me, And in our faults by lies we flattered be.”, it’s a tell me you love me deeply and dearly, tell me nobody else compares or matters, that your whole life you waited for me… these are things that we hear in relationships that make our hearts explode in passion, the idea of a timeless romance that would last forever, but as time goes on, we find out that it may not be, and you may know, deep down that it’s all pillow talk or it may start out true but fade, it is the initial spark that drives the moments shared.
Lie to Me, explains Megan, “is about the compassionate lying that one does to flatter a lover throughout a long relationship. It’s also inspired by the Shakespeare Sonnet CXXXVIII”:
Light hearted and full of musical hope, this song sings of a love that knows it may be wrong, yet for now feels so good, and the song itself is very good, and like everything I have heard by FlecHaus, it will be loved by all.
FlecHaus fourth new single “Lie to Me” is masterfully performed by Megan Flechaus, lead vocals/rhythm guitar; Kenzie Slottow, flute; Dominick Chaillot, bass; Nathan Smith, drums; and Sara Louise, backing vocals. On “Lie to Me,” the band is joined by Benjamin Levy on fiddle, who substitutes for flutist Kenzie Slottow.
The band’s previous, second single “What We’ve Got” just won two L.A. Music Critic Awards: “Best Single-Group” and “Fan Favorite”. “An amazing artist primed to burst onto the indie music scene” (INDIE VOICE BLOG). “Megan Flechaus has a clear country voice that rises over a cool shuffle beat” (PROFESSOR JOHNNY P’S BLOGSPOT). “FlecHaus is changing the way music should be heard, from a place of tender honesty” (INDIE PULSE MUSIC) which is a commentary we strongly believe.
As with FlecHaus’ first three singles, Lie to Me is written by Megan Flechaus, arranged and performed by FlecHaus, recorded at The Compound, mastered by Chris Kress, and recorded, mixed, and produced by Benjamin Alan Levy. It’s available on CD Baby.
