neena provokes a reflection with her new single and music video
A dystopian future on the 30th anniversary of the Great Wall?
“Never sacrifice basic personal freedoms for the promises of security because the sacrifices are real and immiediate and the security is a distant illusion” – Phillip Zimbardo,
Eighteen-year-old Vocalist and fast rising artist neena is a songwriter who offers fresh sound aesthetics, combining pop with alternative and electronic music. Previous productions by the artist, “Roses” and “Run” released in 2015 were broadly appreciated by listeners and met with positive reviews within internet media. In the last two years, neena has been working on her new album, discovering new sounds and writing songs that are her new journey into an unknown world. The artist admits she attaches the same importance to compositions and lyrics, creating her own subjective image of the contemporary world. In her work, she dares to ask questions which, as she claims, confront the younger generation who are entering adulthood, trying to find themselves in an extremely consumerist and polarized society.
THE GAME is the single announcing neena‘s debut album “Flipside.” It combines a raw, post-industrial atmosphere with a strong, interesting voice and a catchy melody in the chorus. The dynamics of the song generate a mood of restless anxiety. The video raises provocative questions about the current choices we face every day. Residents of a town celebrate the 30th anniversary of the construction of the Great Wall that was created to protect them from the dangers outside. The game the characters could be playing may stand as mirror images of our contemporary selves.
The songs for the fast approaching debut album “Flipside” have been created in cooperation with esteemed music producer Bartosz Dziedzic. neena, after well-received material from two years ago, is returning to show her new surprising side and will certainly not let any listener remain indifferent.
