Legumina – Something Pasty and Probably Yellow
They’ve broken up – Not in a musical, but in a romantic sense. Each of them has packed their stuff and has gone their own way. In 2013 they met again and decided that both the split-up as well as the pre-existing relationship should be closed in 11 tracks that are now the part of the album Something Pasty and Probably Yellow.
Written from a safe perspective, an endeavor to settle the past may also be an attempt to hush the present and to disenchant the future. Or, maybe the album is just about a bunch of nice, a little sad, and a bit buzzing songs.
Legumina are Mon Sadowska (Vocalist, Lyricist) and Marcin Gręda (guitar, ukulele, electronics, laptop, earlier Letdown Dept.). Released by “Not That” Records, the album Something Pasty and Probably Yellow was entirely written, recorded and mixed by these two – the whole process has lasted for 3 years – the accordance with the DIY ideals is accidental, yet desirable.
Songs included on Something Pasty and Probably Yellow is the clash of guitar songwriting, personal lyrics and powerpop melodies, vivid 8-bit electronics and abstract samples. Do not be fooled by appearances, the plush sadness is not less dangerous (certainly more devious) because it appears as something seemingly friendly.
Mixed and produced by Marcin Gręda, Mastered at Mustache Ministry by Marcin Klimaczak. Graphic design by Magda Skrzeczkowska
Recorded between 08/2014 & 10/2016, the Music recorded at Former Bedroom Studio
Vocals recorded at Dziupla Studio by Edyta Glińska and Guest vocals on “Farewell Captain” by Edyta Glińska.
