Self-Proclaimed Groovalutionary ellee ven releases new single “The L Word” Produced by and Featuring L.A. rapper, Prodéje. A solo member of South Central Cartel, and also part of a duo with fellow SCC rapper Havoc, Prodéje played an important role in the early- to late-’90s development of West Coast gangsta rap. In addition to rapping, Prodéje also handles a sizable amount of the production for his recording.
The founder of Indie Hot Sauce Records, ellee ven is back in the studio with legendary Terry Santiel to finish five more records. The collection will be mixed by Grammy-winning Reggie Dozier. These gents have mad experience. Their partial list of credits includes Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, Outkast, Rose Royce, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Joe Cocker, and Barry White.
“The L Word” is a bold and direct to the heart devotional, with steady rhythm and groove, it takes you to the dance floor. ellee ven’s voice adds and amazing texture to the hard hitting hip hop prose of L.A. rapper, Prodéje. Together they make a team that will set the urban street scene a blaze.
ellee ven is also in the process of editing a music video for “The L Word” she shot in New York City, and happy to be back to work writing songs with her core trio – guitarist Antony Lee (Urban Dread), the aforementioned Prodéje (SCC), and drummer Jody Giachello (Haim, Chotto Ghetto).
ellee ven plans to record three more songs at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, where she will be joined by Jeffrey Motley (Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Destiny’s Child) and Sam Sims (Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Backstreet Boys, Mariah Carey) before year’s end.
