IndieShout Out: Grit Harbour

Got this email today, band is definitely worthy of praise- Joseph

We’re big fans of the site! Great reviews and I’ve discovered a lot of cool bands through here!

I’m James Markas with Grit Harbour, we feel we encapsulate the sound of Black Keys/Fleet Foxes mixed with Alt-J along with a new sound of our own. We just released a new album and this blog was the first place we wanted to start.

‘Makes Me Wonder’ is our new music video. You can watch it here:

Band members include: James Markas (vocals, rhythm guitar), Corey Klass (lead guitar), Edwin Telford (bass), Will Carroll (drums), Quincy Markas(keys)

Grit Harbour is a rock band out of Los Angeles, delivering a unique sound that blends elements of rock, folk and indie alternative.

The band evolved from an innate musical chemistry that they discovered while experimenting with James’ father’s reel-to-reel tape recorder: the first few songs were nothing short of magic, and the next thing they knew, they were headlining local festivals and being house band at Hard Rock Cafe off Hollywood Blvd. Their style and performances have gained fans throughout the region and continue to captivate audiences at every show. They take influence from mixed of genres from artists such as The Beatles and Nick Drake to The Doors, Fleet Foxes, and Alt-J.

Our newest album has been officially released as of January 3rd, 2017 on Soundcloud and will be on Itunes, Spotify, and other stores February 13th.

Listen to ‘Makes Me Wonder’ and feel free to check out the rest of our new album:
