Product Review: Eargasm Ear Protection Ear-Plugs

Hi folks, Joseph Timmons, Lead Journalist and Review Journalist here at IndiePulse Music Magazine. I recently had the privilege to be a part of the 2018 Winter NAMM Convention in Anaheim CA, and I found so much great stuff to report, but in this article, I want to talk about something most don’t think about, and in music, it is literally the most important aspect… your hearing.

The human ear is one of the most sensitive organ of the human body, it is created to capture the slightest sound and with our incredible brain, translate the sound into thought patterns that we understand, from determining if we are in danger or to being able to discern the sound of our child from others in a playground, with the extremely sensitive bones and diaphragms and muscles that react to the audio vibrations in the air, it is amazing that many of us take it for granted.

Now, as a music journalist, I go to all kinds of music performances and listen to countless albums, and I have to hear every part, every moment of sound, so I have to consider protecting my ears. In my youth, playing drums in a metal band, I could have easily caused damage to my ears and hearing, in fact, I know many that did, but I was lucky. Now, as an older and somewhat smarter man, I need to take precautions, so when I had the opportunity to get and try Eargasm Ear-Plugs, a very well designed and unique Ear Protection product, I really had to bring the news to you.

I did a little research and taken this from the company website,

So, Back to NAMM…

Prior to NAMM, I got an email stating that the company was giving away free ear plugs to the 1^st 100 responses, so I filled out the form and was lucky, I got a voucher for a free pair. During the convention, I went to the company booth and asked about the product, how they work, materials in construction, and all the details I would ask if I was buying at a store.

I did not let them know I was a journalist; I wanted to see if they knew their stuff, and they did, each rep knew the product inside and out, and I felt I was getting a great product. I was especially intrigued by the design, the way the outer shell and channel is constructed, the Attenuation Filters, the design is like you are placing a miniature mechanical ear inside your own, to take the brunt of the sound waves potential damage.

The fitting process is easy; the package contains two pairs of different sized earplug shells. Insert the included pair of attenuation filters into preferred shell size and earplugs are ready to go. The earplug’s triple flange design fits almost any normal to large ear size, effectively blocking out harmful noise. Clear silicone provides low profile for subtle use and removal is easy, the earplug has an integrated pull tab. Included with every pair of earplugs is an aluminum-grade carrying case for carry and protection. The case’s waterproof rubber seal ensures your earplugs are protected from moisture, dust and debris.

That evening I went to a performance and tested the Eargasm Ear Protection Ear-Plugs, wow, the difference was instantly noticeable, most ear plugs deaden sound, fell “bulky” and tight, the Eargasm Ear Protection Ear-Plugs were soft, comfortable and I could hear every drum, every bass riff perfectly. I was afraid they would fall out, but nope, super snug, in fact, after I left the performance I forgot they were there.

When I returned to the hotel, the people in the next room were having a party, at 2:00 am, so, I left them in, and I had a fantastic night’s sleep, seriously, where have these been all my life. I am going to recommend these to all musicians and artists I meet and know, truly a great product.
