Once said to be “Too Small to Play Football” Cole Beasley has slammed naysayers on the Gridiron and now he takes his powers to the SpeakerBox.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley known for his major athletic accomplishments shows his front facing charismatic charms to the microphone; Beasley has officially announced the start of ColdNation Records, which he formed with veteran music producer Victor “Phazz” Clark. The 28-year old receiver additionally announced he has an album in the works, which he says will be released later this year, but he insists his passion for football will not change.
Beasley mentioned how he started writing his own music in college and has continued to do so for the last six years.
“Today, I am releasing my first song off of my album which will also be released later this spring,” Beasely wrote. “Music has been a passion of mine for quite some time now. It started as a kid in high school, in a car with my friends rapping for fun”. Some people will question my loyalty to football, but the passion for that WILL NOT change,” Beasley went on to say “My aim is to do exactly what I have been doing for the past 6 years, making music because that is what I enjoy doing.”
Cole Beasley may not be the first athlete to divulge interest in and pursue a secondary career in music, but it is clear that he is as aggressive in music as on the field. In the first track off his upcoming album, Beasley name drops some Cowboys including team owner Jerry Jones and QB Dak Prescott with a furvent anthem of self-declaration and pursuit of his goals in life– “Can’t snap a necklace up off me, cuz I don’t have one. Spent that on college funds for both my sons … but that’s 4 accounts I’m accounting for. Another 2 that’s yet to come, yes I have enough.-“I’m bossed out but Sunday, Jerry’s boss now when I ball out, I’m a dog when Dak get the ball out.”
With a Football career that is in itself monumental, Cole Beasley is poised to create yet another legendary move in the public view, he has, without doubt proven himself physically, now he stands to make his name synonymous with music.
In interview with TMZ, Cole Beasley was said to be “dead serious about hip-hop, starting his own label to get his music out”, which may also lead to producing music for upcoming artists, yes, the possibility is there.
Presently the single 80 Stings, is available on iTunes, More to come as time closes on release of this and other material.
