Debut single from this lot mid last year. Love that  1990 Euro / Italo  rock house sound and there’s sirens too. Please let this style come back. We love it.

2 Mushapata –Zambe  Aponiyo  (60)

The promo info says…….” A Fantastic mixture of Brakka, Reggae & Afrobeat Recorded between 1980 and 1984 from the underground Afropean boxer Mushapata”. It is a thing of beauty and  genius, wish we’d known about this in the days we were sort of rocking dancefloors. Permanent rotation here that’s for sure.

3 Blue Boy – Disco Bunny(119)

Released back in 1998. Rather beautiful we must say.

4 Russell Haswell – Special Loud Version – feat Sue Tompkins (376)

We do love Diagonal records. Not only do they generally make quite genuinely odd records they manage to persuade people to listen to them.

Our weekly sort of garage outing. Like this one .

6 Horace Sprott – Early One Morning The Blues Come Falling Down  (528)

This is culled from the comp “Music from the South, Vol. 2: Horace Sprott,”  2004 Smithsonian Folkways Recordings / 1955 Folkways Records. We hadn’t heard of him before,  like the Leadbelly vibe

7 Gloria –  The Rain is Out (594)

Out on Cornershop’s label, Ample Play and  from their mini-LP ‘Oîdophon Echorama’. We’re  guessing it was released in December. We love that Texas late sixties garage guitar sound they have too. All in all another classic from Ample Play.

8  Olden Yolk – Beige Flowers  (624)

Cranberries? Sundays? , not really sure. What do you think? Great band name though.

9 Ashley Reaks – Football Results (740)

Ashley’s take on the football results is a bizarre nitrous oxide invention. Perfect BOP fare.

10)  Soccer Mummy – Last Girl  (924)

Thought we better continue the football theme, with this nice little indie ditty.
