Mamalarky, Music Trio of Austin Texas has recently released their third heart-incinerator track titled “Mama’s Bear”.
The group Mamalarky now residing in Los Angeles, is poised to take on the music industry with great enthusiasm and has been featured in both Wonderland and Atwood Magazines, their music selected as ‘song of the day’ on KUTX 89.9 Radio and listed as DO512 BANDS TO WATCH SXSW 2018.
The trio uses a myriad of influences across many decades and genres in a way that feels fun above all else. Michael’s cerebral jazz keys, Livvy’s psych pop writing, and Dylan’s heavy blues drumming combine in an intoxicating elixir that is entirely their own. The group spent the past year writing and performing their music, incubating in sweaty dens and on stages across the sweltering Texas and California landscapes before recording their debut EP, Fundamental Thrive Hive, set to premiere in spring 2018.
The song “Mama’s Bear”is both nostalgic and raw, reflecting femme rock sensibilities comparable to The Shacks or Tennis. Vocalist/guitarist Livvy Bennett performs with the utmost sincerity, opting out of overly processed vocals to reflect the true vulnerability of the song’s message.
