CraigList to A-List Music Mogul: Producer Pro Reese Justifies Hip-Hop Game with Billboard 200 #1 Album
Repped by a former top Interscope Records executive that manages the musical production career of Pro Reese (Wale, JCole, French Montana, DJ Swan Music), this new music giant is being edified by legendary music moguls like Quincy Jones and more. What did this self-taught genius manifest to be compared with legends like Isaac Hayes and Mr. Jones himself to arrive atop the greatest music producer’s platform with the hottest global hip-hop artists in the world?
This all happened by a skate board accident – literally.
During a time when there were very few so-called Black skaters, Pro Reese hit the curb and rail on the wooden roller board to antagonize the streets with his cousins. When he fractured his hip in a skate board fall, this music master mind was then off his legs and on the computer. That old-school square Mac from the 2000’s was his new board game, and one in which ProReese happened to mic organically with the same cousin hip-hopers who were terrible rappers and much better skaters at the time. Even his mom asked the speakers to get quiet in the house when he first got started…until a few years later when everything changed.
Fast forward to the present, the times that helped this early 80’s born baby prevent skater accidents and “gangbanging” in the rough streets of Long Beach, CA eventually turned into a passion for harmonic sound, and made lead way into computer-repair CraigsList ads answered by industry veterans Tom & Bob (Dru Hill, Boys II Men). This kept going for a while. Yet never on the side lines anymore, Pro Reese now spurs self-produced and collaborating artist releases like Wale reach heights like the Billboard 200 #1 Seinfeld-inspired album ‘Album About Nothing‘, and we can hear his music performed for major public figures like President Obama for starters.
ProReese finds inspiration musically in the obvious and the overlooked, creating a platform for today’s greatest minds and hungriest creatives. Next on the agenda: more hit music by renowned hip-hop personalities, and his own May 2018 album release of rap and song ‘Fresh Off of a Break-up: RELOADED’, the sealed-tight professionally produced take on an earlier version of the same title soon to be available via Spotify, iTunes, Amazon.com et al digital music airwaves. Pro Reese’s fresh air breathed into a global genre of long-standing influential music together with a myriad of his own production talents has placed this music mogul in a JDilla-like God space where we have the privilege to witness supersonic sounds of a unique talent all of its own.
