With Fortnite Season 5 Released Earlier This Week, It Seems That European Fans Feel They’ve Seen At Least One Of The New Skins Somewhere Before!! By Lisa Hafey

Could it be that popular Irish twins Jedward have been the inspiration behind the skin for Drift, sporting a blonde quiff? The resemblance to the Eurovision stars, real names John and Edward Grimes, is quite striking: the hairstyle is similar that worn by the duo in 2011, when they first represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Jedward, who have been in Los Angeles this year completing their fourth album, wear their hair a little differently these days, but it’s not surprising that they sprang to mind when Fortnite fans first saw Drift’s pompadour.

Drift unlocks at tier 1, and in addition to his bequiffed hair, has six stages to his outfit skin. His hoodie, jackets, mask, and electric skin can be unlocked when you’ve earned 10,000, 25,000, 50,000, 100,000 and 200,000 XP.

Reports are coming in that the new patch for Fortnite is proving highly addictive, with fans hooked onto the game and playing as many hours as they can. Considering the UK school summer holidays are fast approaching, it could mean many parents will have a chore on their hands to get their kids outside into the fresh air, especially with the likes of celebrity fans such as Drake and Travis Scott helping to increase the game’s popularity (link: https://pigeonsandplanes.com/news/2018/03/drake-and-travis-scott-fortnite).

Child psychologist Elizabeth Englander, in speaking to Boston CBS Local says to watch out for the warning signs of addiction:

“I think that the golden rule about video games and violent media content, is that it really seems to affect different kids differently. If you see them staying up all night, or you see them not wanting to come to meals, or quitting the team, those are signs that things have gone a little too far.”
