M.O.A.B Single Launch & Live Performance
Beldon Haigh and the Mother Of All Bands (M.O.A.B) are a political Funk/Rock band from Falkirk who will be performing some of the only original music as a part of this year’s official Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Donald Trump, Kim Jong-Un and Vladimir Putin perform as Beldon Haigh and the M.O.A.B – Saturday, 11th August, The Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh as part of Edinburgh Fringe 2018
What do Donald Trump, Kim Jong-Un and Vladimir Putin have in common? These days it’s the same band. All three leaders are scheduled to perform live with provocative situationist funk rockers Beldon Haigh and the Mother of All Bands (M.O.A.B) at the renowned Liquid Rooms on Saturday 11th August as part of Edinburgh Fringe 2018 at 8pm.
The Liquid Room has previously played host to prestigious acts like Kasabian, Stiff Little Fingers, Calvin Harris, Black Eyed Peas and De La Soul. The performance also marks the release of Beldon Haigh and the M.O.A.B’s brand new single Airwaves.
Beldon Haigh and the M.O.A.B have created quite a buzz with their performances and world leader’s masks both on the music scene and the internet. The incredibly life-like masks of the three leaders are completely unique to Europe and have been custom-made by American sculptor Landon Meier whose work has been featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and been the subject of much online fascination. It’s safe to say the Falkirk-based band favor musical satire as their weapon of mass production.
Beldon Haigh notes –
“We decided to have Trump on bass, Putin on drums and Kim Jong Un on guitar because putting them all in the same band is a great way to say they are all peas from the same pod, they all essentially use the same kind of tactics. Landon’s masks are scarily realistic, and need to be seen to be believed. Being able to play live wearing them gives the audience a real theatrical and musical treat.”
One of the few bands performing original music as part of the official Edinburgh Fringe, Beldon Haigh and the M.O.A.B will provide a set list containing their signature powerful messages covering subjects as vast as fake news, global inequality, modern corruption and pointless wars. A musical juggernaut, The M.O.A.B are Luke Stenner and Andrew Scott (Trump and Putin), Jimmy Green (Kim Jong Un), as well as Rob Webbon on piano, Ewan Main and Dru Baker (horns) and Fiona Lynch and Emily Copas (backing vocals). Of course the M.O.A.B is not complete without the maestro himself Beldon Haigh on lead vocals and guitar.
The audience should expect a mix of original music and reimagined Rock and Pop classics with politicised lyrics to parody the three world leaders. As they continue releasing music on their own independent label Covefe Records (named after Trump’s notorious tweet), their videos have clocked up millions of views across the internet. This is your chance to see Beldon Haigh and the M.O.A.B (and their incredible masks) live and in person before their imminent global summit!
Beldon Haigh and the Mother of All Bands perform with incredibly rare and sought after masks which are completely unique to Europe made by American sculptor Landon Meier, taking on the form of Donald Trump, King Jong-Un and Vladimir Putin. You can expect an evening of top music encased in provocative comedic satire that will pack a punch at modern day issues and news items.
The live performance will be hosted at the prestigious Liquid Rooms on Saturday, 11th August 2018 at 8pm. The evening will also mark the launch of Beldon Haigh and the M.O.A.B’s new single Airwaves. Scottish DJ Jim Gallately (XFM, Amazing Radio) will be opening the show.
