Indie group The Slingers release 2 new tracks

‘Matter Of Fact’ and ‘Can You Hear Me’ 2 new tracks by The Slingers have hit the scene.

5 piece Indie/Rock band from Australia released 2 new tracks ‘Matter Of Fact’ and ‘Can You Hear Me’ on their Spotify on 8th August 2018
The new tracks are a mix of smooth instrumentals and grunge vocals. Throughout we hear perfected electric guitar riffs and catchy drum beats that help to make them an easy listening Indie masterpiece.
The first track Matter Of Fact was written quickly, however the song from then on became cleverly thought out. The transposition into the E flat key was a deliberate attempt to change up their sound and they use of synthesisers builds on this new dimension. The song was recorded mainly at Brighton’s Salt Studios, with the help of sound engineer Alex Quayle (from band Slowly Slowly) Experimentation with effects was all done at their make-shift studio at the drummer’s house, giving the song an edge that is undeniably personal.
Can You Hear Me, was one of their earliest songs. It started out as an 8-minute Reggae/surf rock tune then eventually morphed into what it is now. This track allows us to feel more of their early inspirations such as Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Janis Joplin.
As childhood friends, they started their musical journey together back in 2017. Since then they have steadily gigged around Melbourne’s grungy pub and club scene, playing at Revolver Band Room, Cherry Bar, The Retreat and Melbourne Food and Wine Festival to name a few.
In previous reveiws The Slingers have been compared to the likes of Neil Young, War on Drugs and The Black Keys, as their sound has that steady groove whilst still showing off their rock influences.
The new singles ‘Matter Of Fact’ and ‘Can You Hear Me’ released on the 8th August are what The Slingers hope will give them the push they need to get the attention of Indie fans across the globe.
