Alternative Rock Duo MKII Release EP Breaking Out

MKII released their debut EP Breaking Out, a hard hitting collection of 5 rock songs, on 24th August 2018.
Breaking Out can only be described as an epic step into the music scene. The band say that the EP flows from track to track, whilst each song has a hidden message that tells a part of their futuristic, apocalyptic space story.
MKII is made up of band members Alex Spychalski and Andy Hind, two school friends who are looking to make refreshing new music that progresses the alternative rock scene. Between them they combine guitar, keys, electrical elements and drum arrangements to go alongside Alex’s strong vocals.
The band take influences from various rock band legends, including the likes of Muse, Rush and Linkin Park. For this project they have been in the Studio recording the five tracks together with some special collaborators – a string quartet from the Up North Session Orchestra, who have played with the likes of Jarvis Cocker, Paul Heaton and Badly Drawn Boy. The project was mixed by Nicolas Fournier, who’s credits include Muse, Biffy Clyro, Fall Out Boy, and Linkin Park.
Although MKII are only at the very start of their career, they have managed to gain a strong social following with over 7000 followers on Facebook, demonstrating that they are serious contenders amongst breaking Alternative artists.
The development of the EP includes creating cohesion between all aspects of the product. Alex has created ‘throwback era’ cover art, together with a digital scavenger hunt that is running alongside the launch of Breaking Out.
After a successful PledgeMusic campaign that reached 118% of it’s goal. Breaking Out was released on 24th August on all digital platforms. Signed copies of the CD are available from their website for a limited time.
