Love Button Global Movement Benefit Concert with Fanna-Fi-Allah Sufi Qawwali Ensemble in Santa Monica

Tuesday, October 2nd @ 7:30pm
The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage – 1310 11th Street Santa Monica

The Love Button Global Movement is pleased to announce a live benefit concert, featuring the music of Fanna-Fi-Allah Sufi Qawwali Ensemble on October 2 at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica, CA. Ticket sales benefit the Love Button Global Movement, a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote love, kindness and compassion. This special event also celebrates the birthday of iconic 13th century Sufi mystic Rumi, the prophet of love, whose poetry continues to influence legions around the world.

Fanna-Fi-Allah’s message is simple: Love. There is an ancient wisdom in their music that is not only heard, but profoundly felt. Fanna-Fi-Allahpresents the ancient Sufi tradition of Qawwali with powerful devotion, ecstatic rhythms of tabla, and group clapping. Qawwali, a specific type of Sufi music, is a one thousand year old tradition from the mystic Islamic cultures of South Asia, that ceremonially unites people of diverse backgrounds through devotional music. Qawwali music expresses what we feel, what we cannot put into words.

The Love Button Global Movement is a nonprofit organization with an international humanitarian mission to foster loving acts of kindness and to transform and uplift the lives of our human family. Founded by two doctors, Dr. Habib Sadeghi and Dr. Sherry Sami, Love Button supports programs locally and globally that promote physical, emotional and mental health, nurture education and cultivate loving action. Dr. Sadeghi said, “We believe that Fanna-Fi-Allah’s message speaks to our hearts and will speak to the hearts of those who attend this exciting musical concert and gathering of love.”

Fanna-Fi-Allah is excited to collaborate with the Love Button Global Movement this year in Santa Monica. Tahir Faridi Qawwal, the lead singer, says, “Music is an amazing universal language that brings together people of diverse backgrounds. We are honored to be sharing the richness of Sufi devotional culture for the Love Button, an organization that is ever generous in its work.“

Through the direct guidance of their masters, the group has performed more than 1,500 concerts around the world, enthralling audiences with their inspiring musical precision and dynamic, passionate style. Fanna-Fi-Allah is one of the most popular traditional Qawwali ensembles of the present era. They are a cultural phenomenon, traveling peacefully around the globe to promote a message of divine connection, cultural understanding, and unity through this traditional music.

Proceeds from the Fanna-Fi-Allah concert supports the #GiveLoveCampaign, funding Love Button’s school programs to end shaming and bullying, training compassionate physicians of tomorrow, and global humanitarian programs. The world needs the healing power of love.
