ROZU (Japanese for Rose) is a post-hardcore 4-piece from Denver, Colorado consisting of longtime artists Tim Graham on vocals, David Sundine on guitar, Brian Robertson on drums, and Henry Navarre on bass. With a hard-hitting debut EP on the horizon ROZU aims to take both local and national music scenes by storm. With full intention to tour constantly and consistently in support of their debut effort the latter half of 2018, ROZU is the next Denver band to keep your eyes on, as their penchant for all things driving, melodic, and heavy make them a standout you won’t want to miss.
IPM: What inspired you to write music like you do?
Basically life as silly as it is to say. We write how we are feeling on any given day, so we might not always be writing heavy post hardcore songs. One thing that we all love about this genre and are driven towards it is the raw energy you feel when listening to those amazing post hardcore bands from 2004-2007.
IPM: Tell us about the other members of the band, and of your chemistry.
I (Tim Graham) do all the vocals, DJ Sundine is on the guitar, Henry Navarre slaps the shit out of the bass, and Brian Robertson bangs the drums. For being a super new band, our chemistry is just amazing right now and we all just have the best vibes and build off of each other. We all come from different bands and we are/were the super driven ones of those groups so it is awesome to have all the drive and energy to grind it out in the same room.
IPM: What are or were some of the challenges for you in producing or performing while keeping true to your vision of your music?
As of right now we really have no challenges because we don’t want to fully confine ourselves to one specific sound. The vision is still all there within the diversity of our writing because we might write a super heavy song one day and the next we write an acoustic or super soft song. We just focus on writing good songs while always bringing in some sort of post hardcore influence or attributes.
IPM: Tell us about some of your recent shows and performances-.
We have yet to play our first show. We have been solely focusing on writing a lot before we even hit the stage to always have new content coming out for our fans. I’ll tell you what though, when we have that first show we are going to bring the energy and do something a little different than others.
IPM: Any Albums coming out soon or shows you are looking to promote?
We have 4 songs we just wrapped up and an album in the mixing process. We just released our first debut song last month titled ‘Dissolve’ so for sure check that out!
IPM: Where do you see your music going, where would you like to be in the near future, goals, dreams and passions?
We solely formed this band to hit the road as much as possible, our goal is to really just see as many places as our music will take us and meet as many fans as humanly possible.
IPM: What would you like our readers to know about you?
I think we are doing something a little different by having so much content from the get go. Expect a new song at least every two months and our diversity in our writing.
IPM: Where can our readers find your music?
