Ward Releases New Single “Slowfast” & Performs a Sold-out Live Show in Mexico City on November 17.
With a sense of mirth and an energized “80’s Pop” infused sound, “Slowfast” by Ward is a hit! It’s rhythm bound guitar riffs of Chris Gongora and Mauricio Munguia, and the powerful percussion is a natural blend with the lyrical musings of Ward, bringing everything tightly together. This alternative, rock, post-punk, new wave group has taken it to the next level and is only rising higher every day with every note they play.
Rising rock soul-searcher Ward will be releasing his new infectious single, Slowfast, this November. The song focuses on the struggle to break free of a life dominated by family patterns and expectations. “It’s a modern re-write of one of the king’s monologues from Richard II”, explains Ward, who has an acting background and performed in the Oxford Shakespeare Company’s production of Richard II in Wales in 2017. “I have always wanted to write a song from a historical figure’s perspective, and the message here felt just as relevant as ever.”
Since quitting his New York executive career and moving to Los Angeles to pursue music full time, Ward has rapidly developed a fanbase of tens of thousands online, played tons of live shows, and cut a dozen new singles being released throughout 2018. Previously released singles, Stand Me, Crush and Soothe The Soul have already garnered thousands of plays and earned praise from the likes of Buzzbands, Groundsounds, Indie Obsessive, Imperfect Fifth, Northern Transmissions + more.
Ward’s songs are life lessons told from a place of both regret and hope, invoking vulnerable biographies of his past and present experience. On the stage and in the studio, his band delivers an uncanny blend of modern rock, Madchester shoegazing and classic post-punk, creating the perfect platform for Ward’s broad and passionate vocals to connect with his audience.
Prolific as ever, Ward actively engages with fans to talk about unreleased tracks, lyrics and sounds. “It’s just better to be creating, talking and listening” said Ward. “There’s so much more to gain from two-way dialogs with people who love the same music I do.” To engage with Ward’s latest sounds, sign up for his email (http://bit.ly/get-ward-music).
And his fanbase continues to grow. On November 17, Ward is playing a virtually sold-out show in Mexico City. “The response from my fans in Mexico has been outstanding”, says Ward, who admits that it was the encouragement and support of hundreds of fans online that convinced him to pull the show together. “I can’t wait to play live in my new favorite city.”

In retrospective, Ward, both the band and the artist is a truly visual group to behold, their videos are some of the most viewed and have a fantastic cinematic quality, as in their Video “Crush”, linked below, the lyrics say the inner message and the visuals support in kind, so it is that Ward is a “needs to be seen to believe” performance experience.
