UK Singer/Songwriter Derek Martin showcases ‘Dreaming Out Loud‘, his new alternative album of guitar heavy tracks, available to buy in CD format from his website now.
His music is fast paced, alternative rock goodness with a strong vocal from Derek on every song. The 10 track album is what he describes as ‘the soundtrack to the life we are all living in’, with lyrics focusing on love, friendship, joy and nostalgia. His passion for music was ignited by his love of guitar, spurring him on to write from the comfort of his Scotland home. He wants his songs to go further than the walls of his home so took them to be recorded with John Kettle at his studio in Wigan.
What has come is an album spilling over the edges with energy, meaning and spirit, reminding us of powerful records from the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Oasis. Starting out with songs like ‘Life in the Minor Key’ which is gritty and powerful to ending on softer ‘Nightingale’ demonstrates his vast musical ability that could definitely add something to the Alternative world.
