Jimmi Carr. “Moving Target / Free Right Now” Single

Jimmi Carr, singer/songwriter from the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia has released 4 albums and an EP under his own name and 2 releases with his electronic/rock cross over project, Innamech.

Jimmi’s music moves through Folk, Blues, Alt-Country, Funk and Rock. It could be described as somewhere between Ryan Adams, Ben Harper and Beck.

Jimmi and his bands have toured extensively, playing major festivals and venues all over Australia. His music has received airplay on radio stations such as Triple J, FBI, PBS, Triple Z. Jimmi’s most recent solo album was album of the week on ABC Northern NSW as well as ABC Far North QLD.

Carr has been focusing on his electronic/rock crossover act Innamech for the past couple of years but is now back n a more organic mode, with a new band. Jimmi Carr band is currently recording a new album.

“Moving Target / Free Right now” is a double A side single, which also includes the song “A Message”. These tracks are the first taste of the upcoming new album. “Moving Target” is also being released as part of the Out of the Dark compilation album. Out of the Dark features artists from the Blue Mountains and Lithgow and is raising funds for mental health awareness and suicide prevention services in the local area.

These songs represent the gentler side of Jimmi’s material and also the new album and have an alt- country flavour.

“Moving Target” looks at the theme of struggling with mental health issues and diagnosis when people around you don’t necessarily understand what the problem is or even believe there really is a problem.

“Free Right Now” is the double A side of the ‘Moving Target’ single release. This track, in contrast to Moving Target, has a positive message about letting go of conflict and grief and finding hope
