IndiePulse Interviews: VAYA

VAYA is more about a legend than a simple “band”, this legend can be carried and shared by anyone who wants too: it’s just about sacred fire and the artists that make a living through music. the white wolf Legend is a spirit, screaming and blowing on the stage. She is the drums and her soul rises up through the sacred fire of music.

VAYA, it’s a powerful rock shaking by war back singers. A live show managing by a strong and sensual female voice supported by psychedelic guitar vibes and robust percussions. VAYA is carried by three high personalities. Her essence is burning on scene night and day and taking us into this fairy and mystical universe, a door to Amerindian rock.

IPM: What inspired you to write music like you do.

Simply Life, human, experiences, Nature. It’s just about translating what you can observe through poetry and melodies.

IPM: Tell us about the other members of the band, and of your chemistry.

Today we are three eclectics personalities; Raphaël on drums and percussions, Philippe on the guitar and me, Victoria also called VAYA on voice, drums and keyboard but also on the composing part. We have met each other step by step. I first met Raphaël who gave his talent on the record session for the double album production. Then Philippe joined us for the live part. And even people come and go now we stay three of us together building an interesting music work combining several influences. The mix of us is explosive and deep and the most important thing that bounded us is clearly the way how we are listen to each other. Even there are happening unpredictable events on scene we are always managing it because our communication is perfectly clear. That’s our real gift, our connection.

IPM: What are or were some of the challenges for you in producing or performing while keeping true to your vision of your music.

In some words, sharing true vibrations with the public.

IPM: Tell us about some of your recent shows / performances.

VAYA is interesting because it’s a direct connection with the public with real emotions; no light show, no superficial things around; it’s just sweating rock music everywhere; even on little or big stages. It is just authentic. Some people cry other are dancing and some of them I just take them in my arms because even on stage, we are just all human, so what’s exciting in our shows? Feeling real for a live music moment; just come as you are and be yourself and share good vibrations through your soul and body.

IPM: Any Albums coming out soon or shows you are looking to promote

We are actually promoting our first and double album, only available on physical way. A hand numbered edition from 1 to 1000 so it makes each piece unique. We promoted it in Europe and then in Canada and USA in Spring 2019. Finally I am actually in process for the second album, here in Canada.

IPM: Where do you see your music going, where would you like to be in the near future, goals, dreams and passions?

Simply put.. Everywhere

IPM: What would you like our readers to know about you.

Just come and see how strong can be the actual rock; we are talking about waking up your instinct on rhythm and music;)
