Something’s Going On Here, the newest music from The Spear Shakers
Guitarist & Vocalist Kelly Richey, an artist with a 25 year career in music, which includes 16 albums and her career with Kentucky-based rock group with Stealin Horses which recorded under the Arista label has paired with Drummer Sherri McGee (of Velvet Elvis fame) have released a new single and video that is all the buzz in the world.
There are some “would be music experts” that would say that the Rock / R&B Music Scene may not be the place for women,…. that their talents are best suited for the pop scene or music with a lack luster edge… Yeah, I have actually heard this prehistoric mumbo jumbo)…Well, I personally disagree, and these 2 powerful artists and they have proved that a “woman’s voice” can be and is just as strong and verbose, making for a rocking good time, and is just the thing we need in our lives.
Something’s Going On Here is a dynamic track, emphasized by the raw energy, blazing guitar and heart pounding drum work, culminating to a life story retold in verse loosing no potency and only gaining speed as it pulls you in.
There is an obvious chemistry between Kelly Richey and Sherri McGee, one that makes this all the more important in today’s music, real talent, real friendship and music for real people.
Seriously great fun to hear and be a part of.
In commentary, Kelly Richey said this of her song and it’s personal meanings,
“Something’s Going On Here” is a song I wrote that talks about all the layers of fear and anxiety that rise up when someone begins to fall in love. When emotions around love and intimacy are stirred, it’s easy to lose all perspective and feel as if something bigger than we are is taking control. Despite our fears, do we run and hide or do we take a risk and allow ourselves to love. I sing this song in first person and I choose to take the risk… because I have nothing left to hide.”
