Fred Hostetler releases new track “I’m a New Man”

Heart pumping track takes the place of morning coffee

Hostetler’s follow – up to the album ‘Heart Radio’ and his biographical acoustic blues single “Taming the Wolf” flips to the blues rock vein.

As co – founder, writer, guitarist and producer of Karen Lawrence and Blue by Nature, he deftly mines familiar territory on the new release. Combining traditional blues licks with pumping rhythm guitars he creates a track that inspires excitement.

In commentary, Fred stated “I’m a New Man was inspired by the great contemporary blues and artist Walter Trout. Blue by Nature and Walter were similar in approach to live performance and blues. I admired his authentic singing and playing. He played regularly at Perqs in Huntington Beach, California as did we.”

“Many years later, after returning from India, I learned that he had almost died, but blues lovers, the blues community, and fans had come together to help him get the medical treatment he needed to save his life.  After learning this I contacted him. Walter told me about a song he likes that Karen Lawrence and I wrote with Jeff Beck called ‘Back on the Streets’. In the time Fred spent with his contemporary and friend, he was inspired to create this new music that is created in love and with the warmth of brotherhood.

In Review: “I’m a New Man” is a powerfully energetic and rocking blues track that sings of renewed faith and desire to make the most and the best of anything that happens in ones life. Sang from the point of someone that almost did not make it, the narration is one of a person that has seen and survived the worst, and now looks only towards the best.  For a man of his years, Fred Hostetler invokes his inner and younger self, hitting marks and chords one would hear in someone more than half his experiences, proving that power comes from within and one can be forever youthful and still have immense wisdom. A truly inspirational piece of music.
