HANG TIGHT DELIVER ANGST ANTHEM WITH NEW SINGLE “IT’S SO WHATEVER”
New Jersey-based punk rock band Hang Tight release new single “It’s So Whatever”. The track is an anthem toward a never-ending pain, as the lyrics read, “Just like the winter winds, I wish for warm weather; The cycle never ends, again, it’s so whatever”. The dynamic guitar riffs, intense percussion and vocals by Pete Zengerle are reminiscent of 90s/early 2000s punk rock, while still offering a contemporary sound.
The band–consisting of members Pete Zengerle, Bill Cardella, Montana Voegtlin, and Juan Ramirez–describes their style as inspired by the nostalgia of “Tony Hawk Pro Skater” soundtracks and new wave surf rock. They combine punk rock and hard-core influences with thoughtful songwriting to create music that is both exciting and meaningful.
Hang Tight has opened as direct support for We The Kings and is currently touring relentlessly in support of their debut EP, Grind. The EP, which was released via Standby Records in 2017, charted #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums and #48 top new artists. Since release, Grind has been receiving many great reviews:
“Grind is a record I am intrigued to hear live, a band that builds the energy perfectly with choruses that pull you in kicking and screaming, my only issue is that I want more from this band. 9/10.” – Thinking Lyrically
“Expect Hang Tight to bust out of the New Jersey music scene in a vast and epic way, especially if the Grind EP is indicative of greater glories ahead.” – Highwire Daze
“It’s So Whatever” follows the 2018 release of Hang Tight’s single “Afterglow”. These, along with Grind, are available for streaming on all digital platforms.
