SCUTTY recently released his debut EP Replaced Part 1
From the gritty streets of south east London to a tent in the Tasmanian woods, the secretly recorded Debut EP Replaced Part 1 from Scutty is turning heads.
Replaced Part 1 is the debut EP from Scutty, was released on the 8th February. He reflects on the high paced, high pressure lifestyle and political upheaval of modern London living within the lyrics of this album. The 4 track collection features a blend between unique instrumentals and modern beats that together tell the story of Scutty.
Running the genre gambit, from Fresh Pop / Techno inspired tempos, hooks with lyrical genius, syth-wave and experimental drowsy back beats, Replaced Part 1 lays a stunning Foundation in which SCUTTY can set the bar for music to come, with an insightful and deep drone drill down, this EP is great and will be the talk of the scene.
A departure from creator Dan Rawlins folk routes, “Scutty” is an experimental music project inspired by, and self-recorded in South East London, finished off and mixed by Robin Waters in Melbourne and mastered by Will Bowden, a Grammy award winner for his work on GOTYE.
A mix of genres have majorly influenced Scutty’s sound, from the beats of Electronic to the hard hitting power of Rock. The result is a merge between LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip and Confidence Man.
Scutty moved to London back in the Winter of last year. Knowing nobody, he drove all of his passion into music. ‘Replaced’ is heavily inspired by his move away from Melbourne as well as his transition from acoustic to electric. Since then his music has traveled back across the globe to where he currently resides in the depths of Tasmania.
Street slang from the streets of South East London inspired the name Scutty, a word that reflects the innovative equipment and techniques used to create the sounds in Replaced Part 1.
