Why Everyone Needs To Learn To Play The Guitar
Not just the guitar, but learning to play any instrument has a lot of physical and mental advantages.
If you’ve played a guitar before, you probably know how relaxing it is to come home after a long day at work, picking up your guitar and playing your favorite music. While you are playing the guitar, you will forget about all the things that bother you, and music will take you to a whole new dimension.
When compared to other instruments, the guitar is a bit easier to master, and that’s why most of the newcomers into the music world choose the guitar over other instruments such as the piano, the violin or the drums. Don’t get me wrong, i am not saying that you can become a professional player in 2 months, but you will still be able to play some easier songs in a short time.
Another reason why the acoustic guitar is superior compared to other instruments is because it doesn’t require extra components, and you can take it with you wherever you go. You just buy a guitar, tune it and start playing it right away, no matter where you are. You can’t do that with a piano, drums or an electric guitar. To set-up an electric guitar correctly, you need an amp, a pedal and more things which you just can’t take with you wherever you go.
Acoustic guitars also are very cheap if we compare them to pianos or any other instruments. You can get a high quality acoustic guitar for less than $300, and start playing it right away. If you are a beginner, there are also some beginner acoustic guitars available which are easier to play.
The best part about learning to play the guitar is that you can become a professional player and go play in bars or other gigs. There is a large demand for people that can play the guitar and sing at the same time, so if you can do both of them, you might just have secured yourself a new extra income. If you start playing on bars, you will also be able to improve your social life, because everyone will want to be friends with you.
It might take a few years until you are ready to play gigs, but the reward when you get there is definitely worth the effort, so make sure you are consistent, focused and dedicated to learning to play the instrument.
That’s it, I hope this article was enough to motivate you to pick up an acoustic guitar, and start mastering it. Maybe you won’t be the next Jimi Hendrix in the next 5 years, but for sure you will be able to play most of your favorite songs easily. With that being said, go to your local store and grab yourself an acoustic guitar and watch some tutorials on YouTube to get started. If you have some extra money, you can look around the web for some paid online lessons, which will make everything much easier.
Good luck!
Just started taking lessons 😀 Though I think learning piano is easier than guitar
Nowadays, it’s actually nice to use the guitar apps to learn, and mix that with real teachers. Try Amped Guitar or Yousician. I wish they were around when I started.
