Review by Joseph Timons: IndiePulse Music Magazine

The album Taking It To The Street by Tony Campanella is an admirable collection of works with a bold and ambitious goal, to be the shinning start of any album collection, and every song to be on the minds and in the hears of every fan both new and old.

Taking It To The Street, from the first track to the last is a fusion of classic Blues Rock and Groove Guitar licks that stir the blood, with aggressive power and shining vibes, it simply does the trick and keeps on giving more and more.

TONY CAMPANELLA TAKING IT TO THE STREET CD COVER ART

Taking It To The Street, while being touted as a Blues Album, is more than what the basis of the genre would lead you to believe. Filled with strong rock and roll foundation. Wonderfully written, performed and produced, it is awash with funky R&B under the stirring movements of music.

Track by track this album is hot, staring with the title track Taking It To The Street which is a rocking song and creates strong feelings, letting the listener feel and move with the music. Pack It Up, a song with classic blues style and a nostalgia o the kind of music one would hear in their favorite club, followed by One Foot In The Blues, an emotionally stirring song, with a slow and riff heavy lead in, just enough time before the singing to pour yourself a good drink. You Don’t Know picks up the tempo and has a well-deserved archaism in its tone. A naughty little ditty is Good Morning Lil Schoolgirl, A new personal favorite is the track Finger On Your Trigger, a great tune with lyrics that say one thing and mean another, references that give you a strong smile if you know what to look for and just plain great music. Mr. Cleanhead, is uproariously funny, another satirical based song on the advantage of having a hardtop. Checking On My Baby, is a toe tapper and makes you want to move, definitely a dance hall favorite to be. Texas Chainsaw, is slow moving and ominous, this track has a dark and soulful moan to it, the song has that old west bluesman feeling of mournful regret and sorrow that only a 2 finger full can heal. Followed by My Motor’s Running, a song with a frisky and fun loving tempo and the album is rounded up with Those Are The Times, a truly romantic homage to what the power of love can do to save a Man’s soul.

So mark your calendars, Taking It To The Street is available now by pre-order and officially comes out on April 19th, 2019.
