Review: P.M. Dawn “U” by Addison Coleman
“U”, is the new single release from the iconic duo, P.M. Dawn, including K-R.O.K and Doc G. The track is a high spirited love song granting permission for you to actually be in love with someone you actually love, according to singer, songwriter and producer, K-R.O.K. Mixed dramatically with soft dream rap, a great melody, and a happy message, that transforms a gray cloud into a ray of sunshine.
P.M. Dawn was born in 1988 by brothers Attrell and Jarrett Cordes, known as Prince Be and DJ Minutemix. The brothers were raised by their mom and stepdad who was the drummer of “Kool & the Gang”, George Brown, who turned the boys on to the mellow sound of Donovan. With a slew of recordings their unique style inspired Billboard to alter their R&B charts and add the addition of hip-hop. The group influenced Drake, Kanye and Pharrell. Following the passing of Prince Be in 2016, cousin Doc G with the addition of K-R.O.K. Resumed recording and performing as P.M. Dawn. Now they have introduced some new music keeping along the originality and creativity, as the original members.
P.M. Dawn is possessed with talent, creativity and celebrates their new music with excitement. “U” instantaneously found it’s way onto my playlist. It would not surprise me to see it hit the Billboard charts and receive great praise both nationally and globally. I’m looking forward for the release of their album as well.
“U” is completely addictive. It’s inspirational and cheery at a time where the entire world can use some joy. The Duo is working on a video to accompany the single, and will be releasing an album as well. Currently “U” can be found on all digital and streaming sites worldwide.
