Inklings is Kier Kemp. Producing delicately crafted melodies that lean on influences from The Killers to Wham! His personal style of indie rock has been described by Clash as a “Powerful 80s fuelled pop vision“.
Kier Kemp artistic emphasis has now moved to thought provoking lyrics accompanied by heavy synth and guitar lines. Alongside compelling visuals Inklings’ unique sound and energetic live performance exudes confidence.
Following his success with previous single release ‘Ambush’ and a sold-out London show, Kier is now releasing ‘Piece By Piece’ a 6 track EP on Marshall Records. Kier has received press coverage in Guardian, Metro, Kerrang!, Rocksound, Alt Press, Vice (Noisey) and more, making sincere and serious waves in the new music scene.
His Music and Videos have thrilled fans and shows the rich depth of an artist’s ability to not only entertain but to tell a story that is every part of a life’s essence.
In listening to the album for our review, we found ourselves very excited and enthusiastic for this release, each track giving us more and more to love about this artist’s work.
The Video above is the first track released publicly, “Ambush” which is an amazingly powerful piece and a great start to the album after the short Instrumental “Intro” which sets a tone. Followed by the track “Let Me Know You’re Alright”, a song of memories and living in a more pleasant past. “Settle Down” is a slow burn, seething emotion and a bit anthem in style, rich in imagery. “Holding Out” is a pop-ish upbeat song that is an audio intervention to someone that just cant face the truth. the final track “Answers” is the final track, and again just reveals more about the emotional drive and the exuberance of Kier Kemp and his ability to compose great music.
‘Piece By Piece’ will be available on 10th May this year via Marshall Records.
