mone offers excitement and alternative thinking in music consciousness
mone is an alternative electronic pop-project, that aims to challenge the simplicity of pop music with its mawkish vocal melodies, grandiose synth sounds and organic beats.
Behind the project is the 24-year-old Danish sound-design student – Nina Liv, whom is the composer and the producer of the music and lyrics. She is a part of, and releases her music through urall.me collective, music and art platform created for diverse creative cooperation.
Nina is inspired by artists like Bjork, Kate Bush and Little Dragon and you immediately feel her drive and her rigorous attention to detail in her music. Whimsical vocal melodies accompanied by challenging choir harmonies, makes the listener attentive to Nina’s yearlong experience as a songwriter.
The music is vigorously expressive and almost exclusively electronic; constructed mostly by sample based synthesizers, accompanied by ambient elements The compositions are carried by the vocal, and inspired melody structures which subtly creates the foundation for the harmonies and contrasts the synth with enclosing organic rhythmic-collages.
mone is a polarized creature; on one hand feminine and elegant, and on the other, coarse and dirty. The disunity between unmanageable feelings and the attempt on controlling them, plays out as a force majeure in Mone’s sonic and lyrical universe. With her freeborn and feminine foolhardiness mone push through the popular surface and you feel her pull from the deepest of sonic depths.
Her comprehension Of composition never underestimates her listener, and you feel gracefully guided in the music, despite the abundance Of electronical elements and tripwires.
“l spent a large part Of my childhood behind my parents Piano, fooling around with both classical and jazz music. In my teens I fell in love with the electronic genre and ever since, I have spent my time creating a universe around this creature I call mone.” Stated the artist.
mone’s debut single called “Romance” which will be released on the 10’th of May.
With the single mone has herself created a concept music video, entirely shot with her iPhone using only Instagram filters. The video introduces a digital and dark cyber-camgirl universe, that with a selfie vibe draws the viewer towards her animate and fragmented universe. mone plan to release several more Singles in 2019 all leading up to her debut EP planned in the autumn of 2020.
