The band spoke exclusively to Kill The Music, to discuss the new single.
Formed in 2015, Cleveland alternative rock trio Coldswell came together courtesy of a music technology class at Kent State University. Born out of experimentation and influence from indie, alternative and shoegaze Ian Hudson and Evan Krise united their love of music and mutual admiration for the others’ work.
Coldswell delivers an intricate and lyrically enticing brand of rock, an accessibility and simplicity that balances with a deft and fine-tuned musicianship from the Midwest rockers.
2016’s ‘Ruminate’ EP showed promise; a grunge-tinged, thought-provoking sound, drawing on the width and breadth of the band’s technical and theoretical musical prowess. The addition of Hudson on bass was a seamless interjection into what had previously been the Krise brothers’ duo. Punchy and cultured, with the signs that more was to come.
Following on from the enticing “Fairweather”, new single “Good Enough” delivers another dose of what fans can expect on Coldswell’s upcoming debut record, ‘Void Calls’.
‘Void Calls’ is out June 21st, 2019. Stream “Good Enough” right now via YouTube and Spotify.
